Food for the woman you’re becoming.
GOLDEN MORNING
Mango, Coconut & Ginger Protein Breakfast Bowl
A bright, tropical breakfast designed to give a midlife body something it increasingly appreciates: protein, fibre, healthy fats and slow-burning carbohydrates.

The combination of Greek yoghurt, chia seeds and nuts makes this much more substantial than a fruit smoothie or bowl of cereal, while mango, coconut and fresh ginger bring the pleasure. As we move through midlife, getting enough protein becomes increasingly important for maintaining muscle, and fibre-rich foods can support heart and metabolic health.

Serves 1
You’ll need
- ¾ cup plain Greek yoghurt or unsweetened high-protein yoghurt
- ½ cup fresh mango, diced
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
- 2 tablespoons roasted peanuts or almonds, roughly chopped
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened grated coconut
- ¼ cup rolled oats
- ½ teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon honey, optional
- A small handful of pumpkin seeds
- A squeeze of fresh lime
Make it
Toast the oats, coconut and chopped nuts together in a dry pan for 2–3 minutes until lightly golden and fragrant. Remove from the heat and stir in the cinnamon.
Spoon the yoghurt into a beautiful breakfast bowl. Add the mango, chia seeds, flaxseed and ginger. Scatter over your toasted oat-and-nut mixture and pumpkin seeds. Finish with a squeeze of lime and, if you want a little sweetness, a small drizzle of honey.
The Golden Touch: Add two boiled eggs on the side if you need a more substantial breakfast or are particularly focused on increasing your protein intake.

Why your changing body may love it
Protein: helps support muscle maintenance and satiety.
Chia + flax: provide fibre and plant-based omega-3 fats.
Mango: brings vitamin C, carotenoids and natural sweetness.
Nuts + seeds: provide healthy fats, minerals and additional fibre.
Ginger + cinnamon: bring flavour without needing lots of added sugar.
And the Golden Plate rule?
Don’t eat like you’re trying to punish the body you have. Eat like you’re preparing it for the life you still want to live.
